Barr takes McCain at his word on payroll tax increases

August 1st, 2008 by Jason Pye

McCain recently appeared on This Week recently and told host George Stephanopoulos that “[t]here is nothing I would take off the table” with regard to “fixing” Social Security, including a potential tax increase. McCain’s campaign, of course, quickly played down the statement.

In a new video from the campaign, Bob hits McCain for his statement, essentially calling it a “meaning of is” moment:

[E]ither raising taxes, Senator, is on the table or it isn’t. You said it is, therefore, we can presume that you’re a man of your word and raising taxes would be considered.

They go around and around in Washington. Nothing changes. It’s all about ‘what is the meaning of is’ with the two major parties, the Republican and Democrat.

It’s time for a change. It’s time to stop these word games and have some straight talk and some straight action and you’re only gonna get that by voting Libertarian. Vote for Bob Barr.

bob - time is running - you have to come out with your position / plans as against the the two nominees who are hogging the media / tv airwaves - who are throwing out spin, false promises ,rhetoric - and false hopes wherein the independents and non democrat/republican individuals have no where to go to except the internet and once in a while get to see an interview w/ ron paul , jesse ventura and you x it is time to come out w/ your position /platforms to correct and help the american middle class x by doing so - there will be a definite choice and a hope that something will come about

The $750,000 by August 1st is over $100,000 short. Money talks. Bob is doing something wrong. All the youtube videos in the world won’t change that. Again, staff, why isn’t he appearing at the Rally for the Republic? How come no one will answer that question?

p.s. You tube views. Ron Paul announces Jesse Ventura will be at Rally for the Republic 2 days ago: 47, 623 views.

Bob Barr puts up the well-produces Time for Liberty nearly 2 weeks ago: 43,637 views.

Go ahead, I’ll take the thumbs down, but the FACTS tell who is getting more eyeballs. Doesn’t it make sense that if Bob Barr did all he could to be included at the rally that he’d reach many more people?

Why do we have to keep asking Bob to be at the Rally for the Republic? This is a no brainer. He needs more money, more supporters and more visibility. This is an easy and cost effective way to get all Three.

Good video, though I think it goes back to a color shot too soon.

Let’s have Bob do some of these about Obama’s many many flip-flops.
