Bob Barr 2008 Statement on new Privacy Coalition

July 16th, 2008 by Staff

A lot of media attention has been focused on our privacy or, more appropriately, the invasion of our privacy by the government. The recent law that allows the government to intercept our phone calls and emails without any legitimate probable cause is the most glaring example. Ultimately we lose some freedom with virtually every new law or government regulation, but this particular law, FISA, is the granddaddy of all invasions of our privacy.

For the last several years Bob Barr has been fighting the government’s intrusion into our privacy at every step. There have been other organizations standing shoulder to shoulder with Bob. But, the recent focus on the invasion of our privacy has motivated a whole new group of concerned activists to join together in an effort to stop the government’s encroachment into our lives.

Some of the names of the organizers of this new group, AccountabilityNowPac, may be familiar to you. They come from a large variety of backgrounds and political beliefs joined in the common interest of protecting our privacy.

If you get a chance please take a look at their web site to learn more about them.

We welcome the leaders and supporters of Accontability Now Pac (http://accountabilitynowpac.com) to the fight to protect our freedom and liberties.

This is great news. TV adds and other high profile campaigning by a group like this could help Bob a lot. Same thing if Perot decides to spend a lot of $ on issue adds.

Is there a statement by Barr? I don’t see it in the press releases or this post.

No PR needed. He had an interview on bloggingheads.tv Maybe they will meet later and hold a joint media conference and PR statement, if Barr has time.

Before I could confidently align myself, I’m afraid I’d have to entertain some frank commentary from Mr. Barr with respect to the various inconsistencies of his past vs. present positions on certain issues.

Some of these issues are highlighted here:

McCain is an anti-liberty unapologetic war hawk. In case you guys did not notice, Barr is running _against_ Mccain, and polling at 10% in many states around the nation.

This is fantastic news for the liberty movement because it provides contrast to the failures of Neo Conservative idealism.

Are we so stubborn to believe that Barr’s decisions of the past weigh more powerful than those made today? Do politicians even exist whos votes are in absolute perfect harmony with ours? No.

If we stopped using perfection as the standard to which all other politicians must be compared, then we would stop being so damning of a reformed Bob Barr.

“Do politicians even exist whos votes are in absolute perfect harmony with ours? No.”

But ONE(1) exists who has voted in perfect harmony with the Constitution - you may have heard of him - his name is Ron Paul!!!

I must say I’m not jumping right on Barr’s bandwagon, as an eyes wide open person, I’d like to know what his work with the CIA entailed. If he also is a Council on Foreign Relations backer, he is out, they are not for American citizens and sovreignty, they are for globalization and one world propaganda.

We were talking here at work about not having anyone to “vote for” when it comes to McCain and Obama, only someone to vote “against”. I told my co-workers that Bob Barr is definitely someone to vote “for”. Bob Barr’s association with AccountabilityNow and speaking out against FISA has raised him another couple of notches in my eyes!

I wrote recently that I think my Utah Senators are criminal for voting for the recent FISA legislation.

Kudoes to Mr. Barr for supporting this important broad coalition. As a people, we must fight back against the sleazy DC bubble players who keep ignoring their bosses (US!).

This crazy left winger just might vote for him!

Heidi, Barr talked about his work with the CIA in a recent TV interview, which is archived in the media section. He was an intelligence analyst.

The real problem is the GOP itself. You can’t reform America unless you reform the GOP. 3rd parties can’t do it because the laws are structured in a way to keep them from attaining any sort of power.
If you REALLY want to change america, you must change the GOP.

Oh and BTW expect the one world government, anti-freedom GOP zealots to fight you tooth and nail to the death. Remember they’re the party of big corporations, big government, and big bankers.

Salon.com wrote piece about Barr endorsing the PAC. This is a great opportunity to win over angry Obama supporters after he voted for the FISA bill.

I became a supporter of Wayne Root’s after I heard his opinions on jury nullification of law at the national LP convention. He supports the right of the common man to be read his rights in court, the right to vote “not guilty”, based on his conscience.

Vote for Barr, and if he gets elected president and doesn’t support jury nullification, then at least Root can be president if anything happens to him.

I expect that any president who ran on a jury nullification, pro-leveller, libertarian ticket who later disavowed his pledge to the people would be assassinated in short order. Of course, that hasn’t happened yet, (unless you count Kennedy).

For all of you totally-uneducated pieces of public-education-excreted **** out there, Ron Paul supported a jury nullification law, called the FIJA amendment to the US Constitution. …And for very good reason. Without a FIJA amendment, Ron Paul would be just another politician. With one, he was a defender of the people.

If you haven’t heard of this amendment, you have no business calling yourself a Ron Paul supporter, or a freedom-lover. (Since you therefore obviously don’t even know how to wipe your *** after you take a ****.)

Sorry. I’m drinking very heavily now, and I’m drinking alone, since not a single one of the presidential candidates will have a beer with me. Luckily, that’s not one of my policy criteria for choosing whom to vote for.

I’m drinking negra-cervezas with my loaded .45, and posting on Bob Barr’s website.

I have very high hopes that Bob Barr will be a man, and make a very long, large, undeniable public statement that the true power of the American public comes from the fact that they are all jurors, and thus all have the power to prevent the punishment of the individual by the police state. If he says something to this effect, he will have proven himself an American man, and I will support him, whole heartedly, as will all of my brothers in the USA, who are in the bars, poolhalls, and shooting clubs.

This, brothers, is how you tell a man from an imposter.

Does he support the power of the people to tell the judges and prosecutors to “**** off”?

If so, he is a citizen, and a man (Ron Paul fits the bill, since he supported the FIJA amendment, BIGTIME).

If not, he can burn in hell with the rest of America’s “Taliban-John” congressional traitors.

—-I say this as an educated man, who went to college, and THEN got an education in the WORKFORCE.

Who else would fly the flag of America, the flag that says “Don’t Tread on Me”?

Ron Paul supporters need to fly the gadsden proudly, for it is the one symbol that cannot be misinterpreted.

If you are an AIDS patient, dying, trying to choke down AZT with Pot smoke, you know what “Don’t Tread on Me” stands for. If you are a cancer patient who is buying dichloroacetate from Mexico, since the FDA says you are too stupid to do research for your own situation, and make your own decisions, you know what “Don’t Tread on Me” stands for. If your sons and daughters were murdered in an ATF gun raid, you know what “Don’t Tread on Me” stands for. If you’re sick of paying the federal reserve bankers to devalue your dollar, every time you fill your gas tank, you know what “Don’t Tread on Me” stands for. If you’re tired of miserable fuckers telling you you need to worship their god, or pray to their idols, you know what “Don’t Tread on Me” stands for.

If you’re a modern Timothy Murphy (see: WIKI: “Battle of Saratoga”), loading his rifle, you know what “Don’t Tread on Me” stands for.

If you’re a Ron Paul write in fan of the cult of personality, get over it.

If Bob Barr doesn’t win this election, it is Bye-bye America. We will have shown the world we don’t have a ******* clue.

What else could be the reason why the mainstream chooses servitude of the CFR?

There is no doubt about McCain and Obama. At least we’d be giving hope a chance with Barr.

Barr might just be cagey enough to oppose the BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BANKERS.

    I hear he carries a loaded .45
