Oklahoma LP begins ballot access drive for Barr
May 30th, 2008 by Shana KluckNewsOK.com reports that the Oklahoma LP has begun the task of ensuring ballot access for Presidential Candidate, Bob Barr. According to OK LP Chair, Angelia O’Dell, they will need to collect close to 44,000 signatures to get Barr on the ballot as an independent candidate.
Ballot Access News editor, Richard Winger has this to say about ballot access in Oklahoma-
Oklahoma is the only state in the nation, in which all the procedures for getting on the ballot for president are tougher than a petition of 2% of the last vote cast. Oklahoma’s is 3% of the last vote cast. No one appeared in Oklahoma in 2004. Oklahoma doesn’t permit write-ins either.

Your recent press releases concerning the need for military strength and foreign restraint, home schooling, and slamming Huckabee for his unfounded attack on libertarianism have been spot-on. You’re running the type of campaign that I had hoped a Libertarian candidate would this year. I will continue to donate and I know many more that will as well. Keep up the good work.

I live in Oklahoma City and would like information on the petition drive for the state ballot. I have gone to the OK LP website but find nothing. HELP If I can I would like to help with this and to get Bob in the white house.
I really dislike the OK voteing rules and such. I would also like to help in this area. I believe that one should have the right to vote for who they choose.
I am a 50 yr old white male. I have worked hard my whole life and made many advancements to our nations industrial greatness. I now bring home around $400 a week and find it very hard to stay above water. I have paid off all my debt except my Jeep & $300 on my only credit card. MY GENERATION NEEDS HELP
Thanks,
Dave

The Libertarian Party of Oklahoma has information about the petition on their front page (http://oklp.org/).
The petition is here: http://www.oklp.org/barrpetition.pdf - *** You will need one sheet per county. For example: Oklahoma county voters should ONLY sign the Oklahoma county petition. ***
Be sure to sign each sheet and mail the petitions by July 10th to: Libertarian Party of Oklahoma, P.O. Box 14042, Tulsa, OK 74159.
Every signature helps, so even if it is just your signature on the petition mail it in.
