From the Grassroots: Urging Bob to Run

As a concerned American citizen, and registered Libertarian, I would strongly urge you to enter the 2008 presidential race on the Libertarian ticket.
The current socio-cultural climate and abhorrent political game-playing in America are consistently and pervasively eroding our country from within. Indeed, we seem to be moving closer and closer to totalitarianism in the guise of a nanny state masked by the banalities, platitudes, and empty rhetoric of the Democratic and Republican parties. The only salvation for individualism, liberty, and the true foundations of social and political justice as envisioned by our founding fathers lies in modern day the Libertarian Party. For this reason, I have been a Libertarian my whole life, and was truly elated to learn you were considering a run on the Libertarian ticket. I was a great admirer of your work as a Congressman, and have always found you to be an upstanding, honest, and truly decent public servant, a staunch defender of the core principles and values of this country, and an honorable ideal of what we as Americans should look for in our President.
I cannot relay in words how vitally important it is that America has a strong third-party choice in this election, and based on the ascendancy of Senator McCain to the Republican nomination, I believe that this is the first election wherein the Libertarians can capture the limelight as long as we have a visible and identifiable candidate. The Libertarian Party had never had such a recognized and experienced individual as yourself to take the Democrats and Republicans to task and hold them accountable for what they have put this great country through for the past 60 years. Therefore, I would urge you, sir, to pursue this candidacy wholeheartedly. If we work together as a united party, we can restore this nation to the pinnacle of freedom and a model of liberty for the entire world.

When I heard about Bob Barr possibly running for President on the Libertarian ticket, I was half asleep. I instantly sat up hoping they would say more about it, but as usual, nope. My first thought after that was “Finally!” I realize that many of the current candidates are sincere, and have similar values, but they don’t have the notariety, and character that Bob Barr has. At this point I don’t know what I will do come election time, but if Bob Barr does become the Libertarian candidate I will vote for him.

I’m a Republican residing in Bellevue, WA. I contributed significantly in time, treasure and influence to Ron Paul’s campaign. I am prepared to do the same for Bob Barr if he runs. I will be with some members of the Mises Society in May; if it hasn’t already occurred, I will encourage them to encourage Ron to throw his support behind Bob. Bob, puh-leez RUN!!!!!!!!!!! SAS

If Bob wants to win he must enlist God on his side. The nation needs a complete foundation replacement then we can all implement the new visions of how to run the country. He would be a candidate saying he is building New Jerusalem and do great things.When building a new house you put in a solid foundation first. Here it is:

The solution to world chaos is the Word of God the Bible and us. The key for getting peace on Earth is everyone willingly on their own free will deciding to turn their hearts and souls back to the things of God. America seems to have lost its identity and is bogged down with internal bickering and wars all over the place. This page sets America back on track with a clear goal to unite into and build for the future so that America can be an example nation to follow again. America is a Judeo Christian Bible nation of God.
Imagine the nation accepting this fresh foundation for the next Millenium. We would be the Alpha Omega New Jerusalem Kingdom of God nation with our public schools, churches, and government totally based on and centered on God/Jesus and the Bible. Is not that the goal?

2008? He is still exploring whether or not he wants to run in 2008? But… but the general election is only six months away!
There are major party candidates already beginning their 2012 runs. Newt Gingrich began his 2012 run way back in 2007. Dennis Kucinich is also already ramping up his 2012 campaign. Ron Paul is clearly thinking about running again. Ditto for Jeb Bush & Mitt Romney. Even Hillary seems to be already positioning herself for a 2012 run to follow an Obama defeat (if indeed Obama in fact gets nominated and loses to McCain as is now the conventional expectation.)
Well, good thing for Bob he decided to become a libertarian. The LP certainly has a colorful field… Barr, Wayne Root and Mike Gravel are all not your cookie-cutter politcos.
